You’ll Never Believe Who’s Just Been Subpoenaed — 23 Have Been Called Up To…Whoa!

The Fake News Industrial Complex (FNIC), as Dr. Sebastian Gorka has referred to them, has not had a good year so far. In fact, one could go so far as to state that they have not been really having a good run for the past year and a half. With the announcement of Trump that he was running for the presidency last year, the press has been at odds with him and subsequently abandoned all pretense of fairness and objectivity.

As for the New York Times, after having undergone a major management change last year, with the new officers in charge and claiming that they will be doing things differently, in light of the election, it somewhat boggles the imagination that the old Gray Lady in Manhattan continues to print the tripe that feeds the Leftist machine. It’s almost like they can’t help themselves.

This year, after the horrific shooting at the Congressional baseball game, which put Steve Scalise (R-LA) in the hospital, the NYT opted to use a little loose artistic license to play to its base and slip former-Alaska Governor Sarah Palin’s name into the article, claiming initially that her confrontational words led to the shooting of Gabby Gifford as well. Palin sued and her lawyers have now issued a subpoena to 23 separate NYT staffers, both present and past, in the defamation case!

Fox News:

In a motion arguing for the case to be dismissed, attorneys for The New York Times said that Palin’s lawyers had served notice that she plans to subpoena “23 non-party current and former Times reporters, editors and other employees — most of whom had nothing to do with the editorial issue,” according to court documents the New York Post obtained Wednesday.

The former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate is suing the Times after the newspaper published an editorial on June 14, hours after House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., was shot and wounded at a Republican congressional baseball practice. Palin claims that the editorial tied her to the January 2011 shooting of Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.

The editorial, attributed to the Times’ editorial board and titled “America’s Lethal Politics,” initially linked Palin’s rhetoric to the shooting that killed six people and wounded 13 others, including Giffords.

The Times posted a correction the following day, admitting that “no such link was established.”

The New York Times has reportedly claimed that Palin has no case because she cannot claim malice, which is the legal standard for claiming defamation.

The intent of malice will be established through a massive amount of inter-company communications, memos, and emails, most of which will probably never make it past the shredder. You know and I know that the New York Times, being one of the big guys in the FNIC, is biased and despises Palin more than most.

Regardless, don’t expect this lawsuit to go too far, especially in Liberal City, New York. That’s the one thing you’ve got to accept about New York Liberalism…they’ll cut you down and, when you cry, they’ll cut you down some more. That’s how they operate. Except if you happen to be a card-carrying member of the Democratic party, of course.
